Visit from Vietnam

A delegation from the Vietnam National Assembly Petitions Committee and staff from the Ombudsman’s International Section. Staff from the Danish Parliament and the City of Copenhagen also participated.

The visitors were introduced to the Danish Legislative System including the Parliamentary Ombudsman and the Danish Parliament. They were also introduced to the City of Copenhagen including the Citizens Advisor.

International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) Seminar for National Preventive Mechanisms (NPMs)

The seminar was arranged by the Danish Ombudsman in cooperation with the Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT) and IOI. NPMs from various countries attended the seminar.

The Danish Ombudsman signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Chinese National Public Complaints and Proposals Administration (NPCPA) and the National Commission of Supervision (NCS).

High-level visit by the Ombudsman, his Board of Directors and staff from the Ombudsman’s International Section

 

In accordance with the China-Denmark Joint Work Programme 2017-20, the visit and the MoUs were aimed at consolidating the collaboration between 1) the Ombudsman and the NPCPA regarding the Chinese Government’s anti-corruption efforts according to the rule of law, and 2) the Ombudsman and the NCS regarding the petition system in China. 
 April 2019 Copenhagen, Denmark Visit from the Chief Ombudsman of Turkey, Mr. Seref Malkoc The Turkish Chief Ombudsman with delegation, the Danish Ombudsman, members of his Board of Directors and staff from the Ombudsman’s International Section    Bilateral meeting 
June 2019 Copenhagen, Denmark Two short visits from South Korea A delegation from the Audit Office of Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Government in South Korea and a delegation from Korea Public Organization Auditors. Both delegations met with staff from the Ombudsman’s International Section.  The delegations asked to hear about the Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman, anti-corruption policies and systems in Denmark and best practice in public administration.
August 2019 Aarhus, Denmark Visit to the City of Aarhus by a Chinese delegation from the Shanghai Pudong New Area  Staff from the Ombudsman’s International Section and staff from Aarhus University participated in the visit arranged by the City of Aarhus. Purposes of the visit were to strengthen the relations between the City of Aarhus and the Pudong New Area and to discuss how to promote clean government and improve community management and service. Staff from the Ombudsman’s International Section spoke about the Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman and the institution’s collaboration with China.

An interdisciplinary delegation from Vietnam, headed by the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and staff from the Danish Parliament

The delegation asked to study and exchange experiences concerning the Ombudsman institution , settlement of citizens' petitions and one-shop stop schemes.

Visit to Jakarta with the purpose of exchanging experiences concerning ombudsman work and anti-corruption

Ombudsman Indonesia, the Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), the Indonesian Supreme Audit Board, Indonesian ministries and other administrative bodies, Indonesian anti-corruption NGOs and staff from the Ombudsman’s International Section

The programme includes bilateral meetings with the Indonesian authorities and NGOs and a public lecture at Trisakti University.
