August 2019 Aarhus, Denmark Visit to the City of Aarhus by a Chinese delegation from the Shanghai Pudong New Area  Staff from the Ombudsman’s International Section and staff from Aarhus University participated in the visit arranged by the City of Aarhus. Purposes of the visit were to strengthen the relations between the City of Aarhus and the Pudong New Area and to discuss how to promote clean government and improve community management and service. Staff from the Ombudsman’s International Section spoke about the Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman and the institution’s collaboration with China.

Visit from Vietnam

An interdisciplinary delegation from Vietnam, headed by the Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and staff from the Danish Parliament

The delegation asked to study and exchange experiences concerning the Ombudsman institution, settlement of citizens' petitions and one-shop stop schemes.

Study visit from the Turkish Ministry of Interior as part of an EU Twinning project A delegation from the Civil Inspection Board of the Turkish Ministry of Interior, staff from the Danish Independent Police Complaints Authority, staff from the Danish Institute for Human Rights, staff from the Danish National Police and staff from the Ombudsman’s International Section The Turkish authorities were to establish an independent police complaints commission and complaints system and therefore requested information about the Danish complaints system especially concerning law enforcement personnel.

November 2019 Uganda Visit within the framework of an MoU between the Inspectorate of Government of Uganda (IG) and the Danish Parliamentary Ombudsman signed in 2018 Staff from the IG and the Danish Ombudsman’s Head of International Relations 

The IG had requested information about the Danish Ombudsman’s communication with the Parliament and other stakeholders. Furthermore, the focus of the visit was to support the IG’s plans for strengthening the local authorities in Uganda’s complaint handling.

February 2020 Indonesia, Jakarta and Bandung Visit to the Ombudsman Republic Indonesia (ORI) and a regional office  Staff from ORI, staff from the Danish Embassy in Indonesia and the Danish Ombudsman’s Head of International Relations  Follow-up meetings on discussions that took place during the Danish Ombudsman’s visit to Jakarta in October 2019. The purpose was to develop the cooperation between ORI and the Danish Ombudsman.
