The Danish Ombudsman visits Vietnam

On 18 November 2007, the Danish Ombudsman, Hans Gammeltoft-Hansen, participated in a seminar in Hanoi arranged by the Vietnamese National Assembly's Board of Petition. The seminar was the last in a series of three. The Board of Petition has cooperated with the Danish Ombudsman institution to describe and discuss models for developing a future complaints body in Vietnam. The cooperation agreement was made possible thanks to the Danish Embassy in Hanoi.

During his stay in Hanoi the Ombudsman also had the opportunity to hold meetings with a number of politicians, officials and scientists. Furthermore, the Ombudsman gave a speech at a conference about the fight against corruption arranged by the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) and a lecture at the National University of Vietnam, the Faculty of Law.
